Have said before I wouldn't be against playing Cresswell and Arthur together on the left.
And obviously Antonio in his correct position on the right.
We need some sort of protection on both sides as the starting point is trying to stop this FLOOD of goals being conceded.
Lanzini has to be the focus of the team as far forward as possible and everyone else just needs to lift their games.

Re: Mark Noble - Noble responds
To be honest it probably doesn't matter for the arsenal game, but I might go:

--------------Adrian
----fonte-kouyate-collins
Byram-noble-fernandes-cresswell
-------antonio lanzini
-------------carroll

For Swansea.

Although in fairness, yesterday's defence should handle llorente

Whatever happens we need a massive overhaul. Again

Iron2010 11:25 Sun Apr 2
Re: Mark Noble - Noble responds
My bat attempt at that would be;

Randolph
Byram Fonte Collins creswell
Antonio noble Fernandez Arthur
Lanzini
Carroll

Re: Mark Noble - Noble responds
Finding an XI and a shape that doesn't include aYOURS, feghouli and snodgrass is the challenge now. Probably have to revert to wing backs.

Sven Roeder 11:15 Sun Apr 2
Re: Mark Noble - Noble responds
Arthur and Kouyate were asleep for the corner.
Kouyate does a 'Yaya Toure' .... sprints forward and strolls back and players run off him.
Apart from Obiang people run off all of our midfield and expose our defence. Which with Fonte and Collins is the LAST thing we need.

Agree that Feghouli and Snodgrass are shit. No threat and no defensive instincts. Utterly pointless.
If anyone isn't concerned about the end of this season they aren't paying attention.
Believe Antonio is back now and there is a big burden on him and Lanzini.

stewie griffin 11:06 Sun Apr 2
Re: Mark Noble - Noble responds
We would have got a point if kouyate hadn't let his man go at the corner.

It's not like we lost 4-0, so I'm not sure being gung-ho particularly cost us.

As for the wingers, the problem is that they're shit

LeroysBoots 11:01 Sun Apr 2
Re: Mark Noble - Noble responds
It's fucking obvious why the wingers are in the team, to supply the service for Carrroll.

What is more bizarre is that logic, gung ho approach from Bilic.

In all fucking seriousness he should have done an Allardyce and respected the point

We are on a bad losing streak and he set us up to be offensive.

Fucking ridiculous

Re: Mark Noble - Noble responds
Kouyate isn't a replacement for pedro. He's not a deep lying defensive midfielder.

Sven Roeder 10:53 Sun Apr 2
Re: Mark Noble - Noble responds
We are conceding goals left right and centre as people are running through our midfield like GRAND CENTRAL STATION.
We need to be more solid and have more mobility.

Agree that not picking Noble for experience and Fernandes for some legs was bizarre.
Yet the pointless Feghouli and Snodgrass carry on.
Also agree that some heads should be being banged against dressing room walls.
We are passive and back to being a holiday camp.

Iron2010 10:53 Sun Apr 2
Re: Mark Noble - Noble responds
I'd prefer not to see either of them in there. As discussed at length Noble slows our play down too much for me (incredibly Snodgrass does this to an even greater extent) and Kayoute's distribution isn't good enough for the position.

I understand why people think Kayoute breaks the play up because he was fantastic doing this at times last year but whats the point if you give the ball straight back.

chedylan 2 10:53 Sun Apr 2
Re: Mark Noble - Noble responds
I think the idea was to pair kouyate with obiang, not lanzini.

You toldyouso numbnuts

Pedro is a better version of noble. So if Pedro is unavailable replace with noble/ fernandes/ nordvielt. Not kouyate.

stewie griffin 10:45 Sun Apr 2
Re: Mark Noble - Noble responds
Correct. The majority said kouyate MUST play there as he's a better option.

Iron2010 10:41 Sun Apr 2
Re: Mark Noble - Noble responds
stewie griffin 10:07 Sun Apr 2

You must be better than that !

The majority of us were saying that there are better mid park options in the squad. I personally want to see Obiang, Fernandes and Lanzini in the mid park together supported by Antonio on the right wing.

It was madness not playing Noble yesterday.

stewie griffin 10:24 Sun Apr 2
Re: Mark Noble - Noble responds
If anything, I suspect the atmosphere is too chummy. Carroll was falling over himself to say yet again what a great bunch we are.

I'd have preferred him to call some of them out.

Baggins 10:24 Sun Apr 2
Re: Mark Noble - Noble responds
I find it bizarre that we seem to want to defend for large chunks of a game and (I assume) play on the counter.

We then pack the midfield with players who have no pace and have no interest in defending.

With the current squad, two of Koyoute, Pedro or Nobes absolutely have to start.

And Lanzini needs to be treated for what he is, which is an attacking midfielder, so needs to be further forward. We are nowhere near defensively solid enough to have the luxury of playing a number ten in a deeper centre midfield position.

Sven Roeder 10:17 Sun Apr 2
Re: Mark Noble - Noble responds
Any team that is leaving their captain out is in trouble.
Makes you wonder about the dressing room ATMOSPHERE.

Our midfield at the moment is probably the worst in the league and none of the currently available players is worth a spot

stewie griffin 10:07 Sun Apr 2
Re: Mark Noble - Noble responds
He was left out.

As the wise heads on WHO wanted and the clueless people the skipper himself referred to

Still more than 4 years since we won a game without hum

Sven Roeder 10:03 Sun Apr 2
Re: Mark Noble - Noble responds
Dead leg, another week off with the international break and then doesn't come back in.
And then not even used off the bench.
Very odd

Cheik KOUYATE

Time to do his talking on the pitch. Kinda optimistic about today Nobes is well overdue a performance as is Andy Carroll.
What could possibly go wrong?

Whether or not Alf is right about Barry, I make him spot on about Noble.
